Firmware Needs Serious Improvement

I was very excited for this board. I've enjoyed trying friends' many Vortex keyboards over the years, and liked a lot of the design decisions Vortex made here. It looks the part, while actually being much smaller than the original, much closer to a modern mini keyboard. (It's little funky that the top right section is not like the original, but more like the HappyHackingKeyboard, also inspired by the M0110, yet also not the same keys as the HHK. But that's reasonably solvable given their remapping tool.) But out of the box, I could not get the keyboard to connect to anything via Bluetooth. Updating the firmware HAD to be done via Windows, an odd decision for a keyboard designed to look like a Mac. Updating it to the "Mac" firmware didn't solve anything. (Why there's a "Mac" firmware when the "Windows" firmware can swap between them doesn't seem to make much sense either.) After trying to interpret a lot of broken English, I was able to get the keyboard connected to my mac via Bluetooth, but it was a lot more work than it should. And after it all, I couldn't get the remapping tool to output the 🌐︎ / Fn key single press code. So, even in its best state, it lacked a vital feature my Keychron Q2 has which I got for half the price of this. I would consider re-buying if there is a major firmware update, but I wouldn't recommend it until then.

Expected better

The keyboard is decent but for that price the build quality could be a lot better.
