Got this keyboard about 6 months ago, I absolutely love this thing with the Silent Cherry switches :l)
the design of this keyboard, aesthetically, is top notch. however, typing on it leaves much to be desired. before i picked up the gorgeous koi keyboard, i picked up a ducky miya sakura 65%. its honestly one of the nicest keyboards to type on. migrating over to the koi keyboard, i can't help but notice some flaws in comparison. for example, i tend to hammer on my keys a bit as i'm used to very tactile resistant switches. i chose the same switches across both keyboards, but the results were wildly different. whereas the sakura requires a bit of force, and has a noticeably smooth keypress - the koi feels almost crunchy and has a springy sound after every keypress. the spring sound is so loud and so noticeable, as if every key/switch has a novelty or joke sound to it. the entire keyboard vibrates with each spring twanging and its honestly jarring. i will most likely be selling it to someone who wants to put in the work on the board to reduce the loudness of those springs.
I have this keyboard for a little more than a year. Although I can say that the keycaps and the switches are really good the construction of the plastic of the casing and the keyboard feet are flimsy. The feet fell apart and to get replacement it costs 30 plus due to shipping from china. The casing itself has started to crack as well but has not broken off entirely. I personally for the money would not recommend this keyboard
I love this keyboard. I've been using it for the past 6 hours or so, and it's hands down the best keyboard I've ever used in my 40 years of using computers. The only thing I wish it had was a couple of extra keycaps for Mac usage (option keys instead of Alt), and the ability to reorder the ctrl-win-alt keys to ctrl-option-command, and also reorder the keys on the right side of the space bar. Otherwise, I have gotten used to it quickly, it's takes a couple of mins to get used to the keys in different places when I switch keyboards.
This is one of the best quality and best-looking keyboards there is. to start the keys are so beautiful all with the artwork being all over the keyboard, keys also feel so nice and some of the smoothest keys I've felt, my previous keyboard was the Ducky dog of the year ed. which i also love but this isnt a review for that keyboard. anyway this keyboard super cool and I absolutely love how detailed and high quality this keyboard is made! dId i mention how amazing the artwork is?!
p.s. I have brown switches they work perfectly for me.
If you want good quality get varmilo. I have never felt keycaps as smooth and perfectly rounded as these and the design is insanely detailed and made with care. The quality of the board in every aspect is insane.
10/10 I'm a varmilo fanboy now and have already ordered my next 2 varmilo keyboards.
