For me, and given the input, the biggest letdown is the lack of official software support. I assumed there'd be some macro and lighting stuff at least, but couldn't find anything that worked. No firmware updates as far as I can tell, etc. Otherwise, minor gripes of mine are there's no subtle shine-through key caps, RGB lighting would've been nice too. And even more minor, but warranted, is the printing on the special PgUp and CapsLock buttons with holes in them that I received was a noticeable bit off with the letters. It's not enough though for me to not use them, I do.
That all said, it's still a fantastic, compact, great looking keyboard design. I got the Sakura switches. I actually started this review wanting to put 5-stars, but realized it's not "perfect". and then remembered the software hunt I went on weeks ago now. So 3 stars it is.
Coming from a Ducky One 2 Cherry MX Speed Silver. Overall I am much happier with the feel of this one, especially the space bar.
My biggest disappointment with this board is a noticeable metal ping noise on all the switches except space bar if the release is fast enough. It's something that made me consider returning it, but I ended up deciding not to. I also wish the keycaps had translucent letters for the white LEDs.
I bought this keyboard because I loved the design and read good things about the Varmilo switches. I went for the Sakura because it had the same force (45cN) as MX Silver. Definitely enjoying the feel of the switch and I'm glad to be away from the tiny pre-travel of the silvers, even for gaming.
Daisy switches.
Even for my small, feeble fingers these switches are a tad fast. I don't think this actuation force works well for linear switches, to be perfectly honest.
Otherwise, it's a fine board with a nice theme.
Great keyboard and it is definitely worth the price, the artwork is amazing and the switches are so smooth (I got the sakura switches). The only thing that I need to adjust to is that the switches register very quickly so you barely have to push it down and coming from Cherry MX switches you will need to adjust.
The only real reason that it has 4 stars is bc the only option for RBG is white and that's it. It would have been nice to see some different color and especially with the space them blue or purple would have been nice. Overall, great keyboard but it has it's flaws.
I love this keyboard, forgot Razers, Corsair etc. I got the Daisy Switches, and they do not disappoint.
Love this keyboard! I got the Sakura V2 switches and I am very happy with this purchase. The keyboard looks even more amazing in person. I look forward to using it at work every day! Beautiful keyboard, great quality, smooth typing.
The best looking board I own hands down. I have a few Miya Pro's now and the build quality on these are insanely good. This is also my first time trying Varmillo's in house switches and I am NEVER going back to MX Silvers again. These EC Sakura's are super fast and light and have a way better typing experience. It's so smooth and has that perfect thonk sound that you look for with linear switches. I will continue to buy Miya Pro boards. Varmillo has earned a long time customer.
Only reason I cant give this board 4/5 is because they missed a HUGE opportunity to add RGB switches with this board. It would have matched the theme so well.
