The Matias Quiet Tactile Switches are quieter than other mechanical keyboards, and have a sound level similar to a regular non-mechanical keyboard. These switches have a similar force curve and activation force as the Clicky Tactile Switches, but are quieter for two main reasons:

1) The switches have internal rubber sound dampeners, that drastically reduce the impact noise on the downstroke AND the upstroke.
2) The metal tactile leaf on the quiet switches is held stationary to eliminate the click noise. On the clicky switches, it's loose.

  • I really like these. I have them on a Matias quiet click full-sized keyboard and they're really nice. Recommend.

  • These feel really nice and tactile. Haven't built a board with them yet but I can tell they have better tactility than mx clear, mx brown, gateron brown, and zealios that I have used on boards. Tip: you can open them up and do some modifications to make them more tactile. Experiment with making the bent metal part less of an acute angle, or making the little legs that the slider has to "click" past at a more acute angle. I unbent the metal part to a 90 degree angle and bent the metal legs to a 90 degree angle, and it feels like I'm breaking a toothpick every time I push it! Probably too much for an actual board but it's fun to experiment.
