I only got a few months of use out of it. I really enjoyed the look and feel of the keyboard, the box red switches were great. I bought it knowing that alot of reviewers spoke about chatter but I figured maybe ducky had it figured out by now or maybe those people got unlucky. That was not the case, almost immediately I started noticing double key presses, multiple inputs sometimes missed inputs what I would describe as chatter or whatever you want to call it. I got ahold of support they said its not chatter to try debounce settings, over the next few months I tried every debounce setting I could it just got worse and worse and worse. I'm throwing this one on the shelf I'm not dealing with it any more, its frustrating to say the least save yourself the headache just buy something else.
This board is absolutely fantastic- I love the switches, the feel and the keycaps. My favourite part is that, while I was given an estimated shipping time of 8-11 days, it came in FOUR. There is a bit of rattle but that can be fixed if you have the time. Overall great board and great shipping time. 10/10
I bought this keyboard around a year ago being new to mechanical keyboards I wanted to get a high profile brand like ducky. My keyboard also has issues with key chatter, specifically the A. E. and S keys. Would definitely reconsider going with Ducky in the future as it seems the quality control just isn't there. Buyer beware.
This was my first mechanical keyboard and it was a great purchase. I wanted a keyboard that would take up less space on my desk and this was perfect. Love the keys, so far the durability has been great. And of course in Ducky fashion, the RGB has been mesmerizing. Great buy!
Both mine and my friends keyboard won't register inputs or double-types. Firmware fixes don't work. Miserable to play games where you have to hold a key to move because you'll just keep stopping.
I've had this keyboard for around 14 months and it's my 3rd mechanical keyboard, with my 2 old ones being over 10 years old now.
Pros:
1. Looks nice
2. Nice RGB modes
3. Seems well put together
Cons:
1. Key chatter!! This is my first keyboaard with this issue. Intermittent key chatter on 'A' and 'E' keys, which is extremely annoying
2. Space bar is quite a lot louder than the rest of the keyboard and even 2 of my old mechanicaal keyboards. Also has ana unpleasant metallic 'ping' when bottomed out
Please note the duplicate 'a' characters in this very review - this is the key chatter that I've mentioned above. For any keyboard, regardless of the price tag, this is unacceptable. I will avoid buying Ducky in the future if I can help it.
This is my first mechanical keyboard and I like it a lot! changing the RGB lighting was pretty simple and so far, it has worked well. The construction seems sturdy and feels like it will last me for the coming years. I got the Cherry MX red switches and they're relatively quiet while still having that "mechanical keyboard" -y feel. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.
Amazing keyboard up until it started double typing (Cherry Silent Reds) a few months in. I don't know if this is intrinsic to the One 2 series, but it's hard to give a recommendation if there's still a possibility of chattering occurring (I thought I wouldn't have any key chatter, clean it from time to time with compressed air). There's a supposed firmware "fix" for the chattering but it didn't work for me.
Alcohol and q-tips temporarily fixed this issue for me. I'm not sure when the chattering will appear again. E, R, Left Shift, and Spacebar chattered for me.
This is my first mechanical keyboard that was decided on after lots and lots of reading, and holy cow I love it!
Feels, amazing, RGB settings are super intuitive and easy to use, and I love love the sound (I went with Cherry MX Blues - very loud, so not for everyone!).
Perfect size too, very compact, ideal with just the directional keys added.
This is my second keyboard from ducky and my only issue is the rubber feet falling off.
The keyboard was great for 8 months until it started missing keys and doubling key presses.
This is my second mechanical keyboard. I'm coming from a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2016 which has green clicky switches. So, this review is from someone who doesn't have much (if any) experience. Also, this board is being used for gaming and just everyday web surfing. :)
The board itself is very pretty, I'm honestly really impressed by the look and feel of it. I do wish I had bought one that had a separate row for the F1 keys (maybe even the number pad, but hey maybe future me will be another!), so it's been a bit weird to get to used to. When lit up this board is gorgeous. I use the twinkle? led setting. It's very dim and glowy, kinda magical really. :)
The board/keys have a bit of a texture to them so that's something to get used to. I bought this one with Silent Red switches. It doesn't take much pressure to activate the key, but I miss have a slight click sound when typing. I haven't had any trouble in the few days I've had the board. Not sure how it'll be in the future, but for now I am very happy. Mine also came with year of the Ox caps and yellow caps instead of red.
I had a wonderful experience with this keyboard that would have warranted a 5/5 except for the fact that the keyboard developed key chatter two weeks or so after using it. Ducky hasn't provided any firmware updates to fix this problem and I honestly can't be bothered to warranty this through the manufacturer and opted to return it instead. From what I read online, this isn't an uncommon problem with the Ducky One 2 series of boards. That doesn't mean every unit is this way; for all I know this is a problem with Kailh brown switches. Whatever the case, the key chatter made this board virtually unusable for developing and document composition.
For what it's worth, I really enjoyed the board while it worked. Good amount of weight, keys feel great, caps were fantastic quality, and the lighting was impressive.
I am writing this review using the keyboard with the Kailh BOX White switch and I am in love with it! The keyboard arrived in the morning and I have not stopped playing those speed typing tests with it. The clicky noise is not too loud in my opinion, but I will definitely need something much quieter in the future. As for the tactility, it is hard for me to tell since this is my first mechanical keyboard but I do feel a slight bump if I press a key down slowly. The keyboard feels solid from front to back, and there are no signs of any rattles. The RGB on this keyboard is absolutely gorgeous, it literally took my breath away when the lights turned on for the first time. I would highly recommend this keyboard with the Kailh BOX White switch to anyone who loves to game and type.
I really love the Ducky one 2 sf. Everything is great but when it comes it typing or pressing the keys, you can hear a ping or metal noise barely but it's noticeable. Maybe if they put padding in the keyboard it would sound perfect. That's the only flaw really. The space bar noise is also very different to the other keys.
This is my first mechanical keeb so take this with a grain of salt.
This board is beautiful! Amazing RGB that is easy to customize right from the board, no software needed. Every aspect of the board feels and is made from quality in my opinion. I purchased with the MX black switches and have no other experience with switches but to me they sound great, not too loud or obnoxious.
I am very happy with my purchase and would highly reccomend!
The build quality and the keyboard itself are really nice. If you want a smaller keyboard than a TKL, 65% is the way to go. My only complaint would be that my box didn't come with a keycap puller or a user manual, which you kinda need to change the given keycaps or set up the lighting.
Very good quality keyboard. I didn't get my free bonus sticker but it's fine. The space bar sounds different then the other keys but I think I got to get used to it.
very cool
I really want to love this keyboard but I just don't. Gave it a week or two of use before I swapped it out for another board.
Build quality is really nice, keyboard looks great. I have the silent red switches which are nice and quiet, which might be a different experience than some others shopping on this site might be looking for. The lighting is kind of inconvenient to customize with no software, but it looks great. The back legs have two different height options, which are welcome, especially since the high one is quite high compared to most boards I've used. I really like the high ones for general typing and prefer the shorter ones for gaming. The legs have a tendency to fold back in fairly easily. The cable being detachable is also very nice for being able to swap out the board for different use cases or to free up desk space.
Typing on this board feels really nice. Again, silent switches so feedback is limited, but the keys feel nice, everything is sort of where I'd want it to be, and I don't find myself mis-striking keys. The caps feel good. By far the biggest issue that I have with this board is the spacebar key. Depending on how and where I'm striking the key, it sometimes will not register - unfortunately for me, this spot is near the location that I often hit the key which requires me to take a little bit of extra focus every time that I need to hit the spacebar or a lot of error correction when I fail there and my spaces don't come through. I've tested it a bit and there's a few spots on the spacebar where I can push it well past the actuation mark and not have the stroke register. I've noticed that I can do this with a couple of other keys as well (left and right arrow), but for those two keys the issue doesn't pop up in normal use - I'd imagine partially because those keys don't see a ton of use and partially because it's only an issue if those keys are hit on a bottom corner and during normal use those keys are going to be hit dead center most of the time.
While ignoring my spacebar issue I really liked the typing on this board, I really don't like it for gaming. Tab and shift are a little bit more awkward for me to hit while gaming than other boards I've used. The keycaps have a deeper contour than I'm used to, so I noticed that that slows me down a bit which will occasionally mess me up a bit when I'm trying to hit a quick sequence of strokes through muscle memory. This could be an issue of just needing more time to get used to the caps (or buying new caps). My spacebar issue is obviously a deal breaker here as well.
Honestly, I'd really love to give this keyboard another shot but can't justify picking up another one to see if the issues I have are intrinsic to the board or a function of the switches I picked or just how I strike my space key (which tends to be on the bottom edge, and on this board there's a larger space between the switches on this board in that location compared to other boards I've used) - especially with some of my other hang ups.
If I was purchasing again I'd probably go with the regular reds or browns. These silent reds have a bit less feedback (and noise) than the Corsair Strafe Silent keyboard I had used a few years ago that I really liked, but I would appreciate a bit more.
Without the spacebar issue, I'd probably have left four stars with a single shared point taken off for the lighting solution (lack of software and the lights not just auto turning off with shutdown - which there may be a hotkey combo to do this, I just don't see it listed in the limited offerings in the manual without resetting my color choice) and the gaming performance (although "preference" might be a better word to use here). Would probably have kept this board around to swipe around for heavy typing tasks, but at this point it's on storage duty.
I love this keyboard! It's so clean looking and it feels great to type or game on. The compact size makes me feel like I have way more space on my desk. I got red switches and they feel really smooth compared to my old keyboard with brown switches. The additional keys are cool looking - I got blue and year of the rat. It looks dope with the white background.
Cons: one of the additional 10 colored keys doesn't go on this keyboard at all, but it's not a huge deal since they are extra keys.
Also, I didn't get a sticker even though I selected a free bonus sticker I selected which was just slightly disappointing.
The RGB macros are really confusing and my keyboard didn't come with a manual. I wish they would just have some simple software for it.
I just received my keyboard today. It's absolutely amazing. I had wanted the TKL version but decided to buy the SF version because of the fact that it was in stock and I'm super happy. All the LED's worked. The keys are crisp. I got the version 2 year of the rat spacebar that I really really wanted. It's an absolutely gorgeous solid keyboard that feels amazing to type on. The stabilizers are also superb. Really I can't recommend it enough.
I'd only take off any stars at all for the lack of RGB software support but in the future it'll probably be resolved. For what the keyboard is and does it's incredible. Five stars.
Really nice keyboard! This is my first 65% keyboard and I am really pleased with the overall size, build and quality. Back-light is quite even in most places and customisations are nice. The keycap construction and feel is great and the mechanical switches are great, as expected. Included goodies are a nice bonus as well.
The only dislike for me so far the the loud metallic sound that the space bar makes when bottomed out. I type quite a lot of it is something that might get annoying as time goes on.
**Ignore my previous review I wrote for this keyboard!! It was a mistake!!** Anyway, I just received this keyboard today, and lemme tell you its the best keyboard I have ever owned! I can type now at very high speeds and not mess up my words, unlike the "Ducky One 2 Mini v2 Black" because this keyboard is the perfect size! Its not too small and not too big! I got the cherry brown switches and lemme tell you, for anything the cherry brown switches are the best! The RGB really POPS on this keyboard as well, and even though I like the solid colors on my black one 2 mini v2, I like the rainbow on this keyboard better because thew white background really fits it well! 10/10 would buy again!
i got the pure white one 2 SF with the cherry red switches. for starters. this keyboard feels buttery smooth. i have the apex pro TKL and the omnipoint/reds that are in those dont come close to this keyboard. another thing that many keyboard companies overlook are stabilizers. the ducky are just top notch and they do what they do the best. this keyboard is priced really well. this is the next best thing that happened to the one 2 mini. with just a tad longer than the one 2 lineup makes it i really tough to beat. typing on this keyboard fells and sounds great. i love the way it feels. i like the blue accent caps and i love the spacebar that came with my model. i got the 2020 year of the rat space bar and it is gorgeous. the keycaps are phenomenal but i paired mined with the matrix Miami vice key caps and year of the rat spacebar. i got my first dub on fortnite and VicRoy on warzone and even did an essay for class since i got it this morning.
Great keyboard! Switches feel great, stabilizers are excellent, RGB looks beautiful. Feels well made and like it'll last a long time. Highly recommend this board if you must have dedicated arrow keys!
The Box had a dent but the Keyboard was fine. The Keyboard feels solid and high quality. It software is confusing but once you get the hang it fine. I wish they had Mecha SF but the SF is fine.
If your having doubts dont, this is a great keyboard its basicly a ducky one 2 mini and I had both they are both really solid keyboards. I would recommend cherry browns as typing feels amazing too
The RGB on the pure white is gorgeous! Mine also came with the year of the Rat spacebar and the new and updated cherry mx switches. If you're interested, I made an unboxing, review, and sound test video on my Youtube channel Lil Rice Muncher Gaming!
amazing keyboard, still comes with year of the boar tho. give me a rat and its perfect!
It nice.
