Found on the original Model M mechanical keyboards, buckling spring switches are loud, tactile, and require a high amount of force.

These are definitely not for your gaming sessions, but are probably the best switches you can find for typing. Best tactile feedback, classic sound, and just enough force for any typist. I recommend anyone who types a lot to go buy a Model M or any keyboard with these switches.

The OG. The benchmark for all else to follow. The only complaint I have is that I wish the stroke would be a bit shorter. I don't understand the complaints about gaming - I have gamed on these since 1994 and still do. Not saying I am any good, but I don't blame the keyswitches for that.

These switches are definitely not meant for gaming. These are purely typing switches. To date, they are my favorite switches to use when typing. I have a Model M at my office and use it daily. Nothing beats the feel and sound of a buckling spring. A typist should definitely have a keyboard with these switches handy.
